Catskill Terraces
Fermata is a new home named after the musical term meaning “a pause of unspecified length”. This single story home will be a space designed to encourage pause, breath and reflection and will give space to stillness.
Our client is looking forward to finally building her dream home and has a love for life, greenery, and all things cozy. She also has a number of fantastic pieces of artwork, including a painting titled Fermata. Her artwork will not only have specifically designed locations in the home, but directly inspired the design, from floor plan to interior details.
In addition to the client’s artwork, Fermata is designed around a large central courtyard. Outdoor dining, gardening, and a sense of peace will all drive the design for the courtyard space. Built both for entertaining and for the quiet moments in life, the project will feature large expanses of glass and quiet nooks for reading and reflection.
