Last time that we shared a construction update for Rebus, a custom home at The Cliffs at Kaaterskill, we just had the windows installed. HVAC, plumbing, interior framing, and insulation had all been put in place, and concrete polishing was beginning to take place. That feels like so long ago! So much progress has taken place since that August post.
Drywall has been installed, custom millwork was delivered to the site and put into place, and the wood siding is now going up!
Inside Rebus, the kitchen is coming together. Some fun details in this kitchen include a wine fridge (far left), plenty of cabinets for storage and waterfall edges on the island. We’re putting in two sinks – one in the rear counter and another one in the island. We are looking forward to receiving and installing the solid stone slab backsplash – it’ll really tie the two elements of the kitchen together!
Across from the kitchen wall are sliding doors and windows that capture the breathtaking view from their The Cliffs at Kaaterskill‘s site.
Natural light floods into the living area from the window wall and from the double height windows that ascend with the stairs. The stairs pictured are temporary during construction and we are looking forward to the actual stairs going in.
Upstairs in the main bedroom, the window with a reading nook is coming together. Maximizing the use of the space, we designed for storage under the bench.
Now moving to the exterior, siding is currently going up. So far the view-facing back of the home has siding installed on the second floor. It looks absolutely perfect – huge thanks to Tim and Rich, the craftsmen working on this project, who are paying such close attention to all of the details.
We can’t wait to see the siding completed!
