New York is second to Vermont as the highest syrup producing state. With many of the New York syrup farms located around the Hudson Valley, we thought it would be great to share a few local syrup producers and a cocktail recipe using maple syrup. Our cocktail is a twist on our favorite Cold Toddy. These local syrup farms all have amazing recipes of their own and we highly recommend checking out each of their websites.
This blog post will be a bit different from our other Around the Valley and Cocktail posts. With a little help from these farms, we have compiled a bunch of recipes featuring maple syrup. From savory to sweet, we’re highlighting how versatile maple syrup can be. As sugaring season comes to an end it’s a great time to stock up on a fresh batch. Here are some farms to check out:

This recipe serves 2-4
Ingredients
- 2 tbs maple syrup
- 4 tbs orange juice
- 1/2 cup your favorite local bourbon (we will be using Cooper’s Daughter’s Black Walnut Bourbon)
- rosemary sprig
Directions
Combine the maple syrup, orange juice, and bourbon in a shaker.
Pour over ice and place the rosemary sprig in the drink
And enjoy! Depending on how strong you like your drink, you can shake it with ice and strain the drink out for a stronger taste.
We hope you visit these maple farms or support them from their online shops – they are all so amazing! Let us know if you try out our recipe or any of the others.
