July 4th weekend usually marks the beginning of our summer season in the Hudson Valley. It’s the start of summer vacations, day trips, and weekend visits to our beautiful area. Since Independence Day falls on a Wednesday this year we expect many visitors will be celebrating the holiday with a five day weekend in the Hudson Valley. Here are some of the celebrations you won’t want to miss this year!
Newburgh
Community Day & Independence Day Celebration
July 3rd, 6:00pm – 10:00pm
This year Newburgh is joining its Community Day and Independence Day celebration into one big party. Food, games, fireworks, and more, with live music from the Funk Junkies. Cronomer Hill Park, Newburgh, 12550.
Hunter
Independence Day Party and Fireworks
July 3rd, 6:00pm – 10:00pm
Celebrate the 4th with a good old fashioned American BBQ with ice cream and lawn games, followed by fireworks at dusk. Scribner’s Catskill Lodge. Entrance to the event is free. All ages are welcome. Food & drink items will be available for purchase.
Saugerties
4th of July Parade and Fireworks
July 4th, 10:00am – 1:00pm
Join the Zamboni while celebrating our nation’s independence by participating in the Saugerties 4th of July parade sponsored by the Saugerties Youth Hockey Association and Kiwanis Ice Arena. After the parade, make sure you see the fireworks sponsored by the Saugerties Stallions at Cantine Field starting at 9;30pm.
Kingston
4th of July Fireworks and Celebration
July 4th, 4:00pm – 10:00pm
Enjoy Kingston’s annual 4th of July celebration at the beautiful Downtown Waterfront. Live music on the promenade in T.R.Gallo park and fireworks at dark via the Wurts Street Bridge over the Rondout Creek.
Germantown
An Old-Fashioned Independence Day
July 4th, 2:oopm – 10:00pm
18th century crafts, Re-enactors, music and entertainment. Later, enjoy live music and delicious hot food until you’re able to enjoy a view of the Saugerties Fireworks over the Hudson River! $15 per vehicle.
Newburgh
Grand Celebration: A Family Fun Fourth
July 4th, 2:00pm – 4:00pm
Independence Day marks the day this historic site was opened to the public in 1850. To celebrate, guests can enjoy a special performance of Newburgh Enlarged City School District’s Drumline, outdoor activities, crafts, and more while taking in the views of the majestic Hudson River and breathtaking Hudson Highlands. Guided tours of the historic Headquarters and an exhibit featuring more than 1,300 historic objects are additional activities for festival attendees to explore.
