We are finally getting around to covering our stake out for IRIE House we did back in October. IRIE House is a custom home at Catskill Terraces, you can learn more about the home here. Visiting the Terraces during the the fall was so lovely. We’re sad to report that we’re now approaching winter…but we figured it was a great time to reminisce about warmer autumn days.
Since this stake out, we’ve repopulated the initial excavation of the upper lots’ road construction with native trees. We can’t wait for them to keep growing in their new home!
But jumping back to the stakeout…We had a wonderful time walking the site with our clients, putting stakes in the ground, and imagining where each room of the house would be. By doing this, our clients get a better idea of each view from each room. IRIE House’s site has a dramatic slope where the back of the home will be facing. Our clients were drawn to being as close to the edge as possible. With this goal in mind, we moved the back of the home closer to the slope and eliminated the deck off of the sunken living room and screened in porch.
Over at Studio MM, the architects are working on their final construction documents and then we’ll have another stakeout to clear the site for construction. We’re looking forward to the new year!
