We’re so excited to announce that IRIE House, one of the custom homes at Catskill Terraces, has officially begun construction! IRIE House is a home for a fun couple that encourages our clients to explore their passions and enjoy their time outdoors.
After the site where the home is going to be built was cleared, we set up the batter boards with Tim and Rich.
After batter boards were placed excavation began!
Since Catskill Terraces is a rocky site, a lot of digging and moving around takes place. We like to save the natural stone in case any homes want to use it for landscaping, particularly stone retaining walls or paths to the entry. The benefit of a rocky site is that it creates a stable foundation for the home to be built on as the material is very durable.
After digging, the excavator is then driven over the site to flatten the land for the foundation.
We then met with our clients and the contractors from Cherry Hill Construction on site to look at excavation, discuss any framing and foundation coordination needs, and get ready for concrete!
