We recently started developing homes for our newest community, The Cliffs at Kaaterskill. The first home to be built at The Cliffs will be Aurora House which is located at one of the highest cliffs on the property and is designed to accentuate the site’s infinite views to the East.
The Cliffs are located near Saugerties, NY in the Eastern Catskill Mountains. The property is bordered by Kaaterskill Wild Forest which encompasses some of the most popular hiking destinations in all of the Catskills including Kaaterskill Falls.
The Cliffs are a combination of tremendous rock formations, extreme elevation changes which heighten privacy, and dramatic, unobstructed views of the Hudson Valley and beyond. In other words, the site is spectacular.
Our plan is to divide the property into five 5+ acre sites, each with outstanding views and complete privacy. Here’s a look at the layout for the site:

We will be designing a custom modern home for each of the five lots. Similar to the homes at Waterfalls Properties, each home at The Cliffs will be completely distinct, designed to accommodate the unique characteristics of each lot while retaining our signature contemporary style. All of the homes at The Cliffs will be designed to enhance the natural surroundings and take advantage of the infinite views across the Hudson Valley.
Aurora House
Perched at the top of a magnificently staggered cliff, Aurora nestles itself within the landscape while simultaneously giving guests and owners breathtaking views of the Hudson Valley and the Catskill Mountains.
Inspired by the surrounding rock faces, the house commands its lush green clearing with a site-sourced rock plinth. The main second story open-plan living space is enclosed in a sleek glass façade, maximizing views of the valley and seamlessly combining the indoor and outdoor spaces.
This main space is divided by an impressive open riser stair, which provides a direct connection to the cliff face at the rear of the house. Ultimately, Aurora strives to maximize views of its beautiful site while providing clients with the ultimate entertaining and relaxation retreat.
