Today we’re sharing a warming cocktail perfect for the fall season, Spiked Hot Apple Cider!
We were first introduced to this drink when our team presented at Field + Supply last year. It’s simple to make and delicious! A perfect way to stay warm and celebrate the autumn season.
For our cocktails, we used local apple cider and bourbon distilled in the Hudson Valley from Tuthilltown Distillery. To make two large servings, here’s what you’ll need:
4 cups apple cider
4 ounces Hudson Baby Bourbon
1 cinnamon stick (or more for garnish)
2 slices of lemon
2 slices of roasted apple for garnish
1 Tablespoon of cinnamon for apple garnish
Sprinkle apple slices with cinnamon and roast in the oven at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes. Warm-up the apple cider on the stove over medium heat. Add a cinnamon stick to the pot for a boost of extra flavor.
While the cider is heating up, place a slice of lemon at the bottom of each mug you’re using. Then add 2 oz of bourbon and let it sit so it can absorb the lemon.
Pour in the warm apple cider and add a cinnamon stick to each mug.
We used 18oz mugs so adjust the amount of apple cider and bourbon depending on the size of your mug and taste preference.
Add your apple garnish and enjoy!
Happy Fall!
