The warm weather is here and trails and parks in the Hudson Valley are starting to reopen, making it the perfect time for some hiking and biking through the Hudson Valley! Here’s a list of some of our favorite local spots to hike and bike.

Hiking and Biking Through the Hudson Valley
Take in views of Shawanagunk Ridge as you ride your bike ride along this 22-mile gravel and dirt trail running from to Wallkill to Kingston.
This protected area of land offers 30 acres of old carriage roads for mountain bikers and numerous areas for hiking such as the infamous Lemon Squeeze, a very difficult 5 ½ mile hike with a big payoff of incredible views from the Sky Top Lookout.
One of the most unique and picturesque parks in all of New York State, Minnewaska has lots of hiking options for all levels of ability and 35 miles of carriage roads for bikers to enjoy. Trails lead to waterfalls and streams while offering views of surrounding Shawangunk Mountains and Lake Minnewaska below.
The Ashokan Rail Trail opened to the public last October, offering 11.5-miles of trail between West Hurley and Boiceville along Ashokan Reservoir.
Located within Kerhonkson’s Sunset Wild Forest, this moderately easy 3 ½ mile hike takes you straight along a gravel path and leads uphill to a 60-foot waterfall and shallow river. Take in the surrounding blooming mountain laurel bushes in the spring or go swimming at the foot of the waterfall in the summer.
Running from New Paltz to Mohonk Preserve, this trail winds through farm fields and over rolling hills, connecting the Walkill River and Shawangunk Ridge, and one day the future Empire State Trail.
