New York state is now home to more breweries than at any time in its history, so I think it’s safe to say we’re living through a brewery boom in Upstate New York. The drastic increase is likely a result of the farm brewing law passed in New York State back in 2012. It was structured to encourage brewers to use ever-increasing amounts of state-grown ingredients, sparking the creation of farm breweries all around New York state. That coupled with the increase in people spending more time Upstate has resulted in a lot of new breweries for beer-lovers to enjoy.
Here are a few of our favorite breweries in the Hudson Valley and Catskills to check out!
Hudson Valley Breweries
Arrowood Farms

Plan Bee Farm Brewery
“At Plan Bee Farm Brewery, our beers are created by the limitation of local resources. From the yeast we cultivate from our honey comb, to the grain and hops in our fields, if it isn’t in our community it doesn’t enter our beer.”
