It’s that time of year again! Hudson Valley farms are starting to offer the first fruits and vegetables of spring and farm stands and farmers’ markets are opening up for the 2021 season. Today we’re highlighting farms rather than farmers’ markets. For a list of farmers’ markets in the Hudson Valley check out this previous post where we shared several of our favorites in the region. Here are some of our favorite local farmers in the Hudson Valley.
Damn Good Honey Farm

This family farm also strives to help new beekeeper’s on their journey into apiculture. Offerings include honey, handmade soap and organic produce. Order ahead for weekly pickup or free delivery within 20 minutes of Kerhonkson. You can also find their products at many local farm stands and markets throughout the Hudson Valley. Damn Good Honey Farm is currently working on building a market featuring their produce, honey, soap, and other hive products, as well as other organically and sustainably grown and created products from a carefully curated selection of local growers, makers, and crafters.
Saunderskill Farms

Saunderskill Farms is open for the season! Saunderskill is a great place to grab lunch, bakery items (they have the best cider donuts!!), flowers or herbs to grow in your garden, as well as an assortment of seasonal local fruits and vegetables. Stop by this spring to pick up their homegrown strawberries, greenhouse tomatoes and asparagus.
Long Season Farm

In addition to their winter CSA, this small family-run organic vegetable farm focuses on the production of high-quality vegetables year-round for farmers’ markets throughout the Hudson Valley region. You can find their produce at farmers’ markets in Kingston and Beacon, where they’ve teamed up with best-selling author and renowned chef Julia Turshen. Each week Julia shares a new recipe using produce grown at Long Season Farm.
Ravenwood

Located in a renovated 19th-century barn in Kerhonkson, this seasonal farm shop offers fresh produce, a small cafe and a makers showcase highlighting artwork and high-quality crafts made in the Hudson Valley. Ravenwood plans to open for the season in late May. In the meantime, they are offering preorder flower bouquets for pickup and other treats through their online farm shop.
