During our local adventures series we spend a day or two at a town in the greater Hudson Valley. Recently, we spent some time in Saugerties! We are always in Saugerties checking in on Catskill Terraces, our community of under construction custom homes, and land currently available for sale. In honor of our event at Catskill Terraces, this week we are showing what you can do in the area of Saugerties! For more information on our event visit our recent blog post and our Instagram for updates and as always feel free to contact us!
Olsen & Company
We started the day with an egg and cheese on a croissant at Olsen and Co! They make fantastic sandwiches and are a favorite stop of ours when out and about for site visits.
Bosco’s Mercantile
We then walked over to Bosco’s Mercantile where you can find all things bed, bath, clothing, accessories, and more. They also have Bosco’s Little Shop nearby.
Saugerties Farmers Market
The Saugerties Farmers Market runs on Saturdays from 10am-2pm. If you check their website beforehand they usually update which vendors will be in attendance. If you’ve read some of our recipes, you’ll be familiar with Montauk Catch Club where we often get our seafood from. In addition to Montauk Catch Club, you can find produce from The Lone Duck Farm, Deadhead Farms, and others! Catskill Mountain Lavender who sells flowers, soaps, and lotions is also often in attendance.
Josie’s Coffee Shoppe
For some early afternoon coffee and another bite, we stopped by Josie’s.
Saugerties Lighthouse
We then walked over to the lighthouse. The Saugerties Lighthouse is unlike many lighthouses. Built in 1869, it’s incredibly charming and relaxing. There is lots to explore, as the lighthouse is near a half mile long nature trail featuring numerous boardwalks through the surrounding wetlands.
Alleyway Ice Cream
To cool down we stopped by Alleyway Ice Cream for a scoop or two. I got the Thai Tea Cookies & Cream and Ube Heath Bar Crunch.
Opus 40
We then hopped back into the car to stop by Opus 40! We’ve written about Opus 40 before in our art museums post. Check it out this summer, as they’re hosting lots of fun, family-friendly events, many of which feature local musicians.
