It’s that time of year again – winter is here! That means it’s time for cold weather, snowy hikes and other winter adventures, as well time for some cozy indoor fun too! We’ve already been enjoying one of our favorite parts of winter in the Hudson Valley, enjoying delicious winter veggies from Long Season Farm’s Winter CSA!
Located in Kerhonkson, Long Season Farm is a small family-run organic farm that uses sustainable growing practices to produce fresh produce all year long. The winter CSA consists of ten distributions available for pick-up every other week from late November through March. With each distribution, CSA members receive a newsletter by email with some background on the vegetables included as well as recipe suggestions for the produce.
Boxes include seasonal vegetables such as butternut squash, pumpkins, carrots, onions, garlic, kale, collards, chard, Chinese cabbage, mustard, potatoes, winter radishes, beets, and salad mixes. Last year, we shared what we’ve made using our winter veggies if you need some recipe ideas!
If you haven’t already signed up but want to consider it for the future, check out Long Season Farm’s latest distribution email for details!
