From apple picking to leaf peeping there so much to do in the Hudson Valley in the fall. A visit to one of Upstate New York’s cideries can make a fun day trip. Many have beautiful outdoor grounds, some offer tours in addition to tastings, and some even make their own food to enjoy while you sample delicious cider. Here are a few of our favorite cideries in the Hudson Valley to visit this season!
Seminary Hill
Callicoon, NY
Located in the foothills of the Catskills overlooking the Delaware River winding through the valley below, Seminary Hill creates distinctive ciders that reflect the agricultural heritage of the western Catskills. Grounds include a tasting room, restaurant and event space.
Brooklyn Cider House at Twin Star Orchards
New Paltz, NY
Shortly after starting to make cider, Brooklyn Cider House founders Peter and Susan Yi knew they wanted to grow their our own fruit in order to have ultimate control over the quality and variety of apples for their cider. So in the spring of 2015, they purchased and revitalized a beautiful apple orchard in New Paltz. Twin Star Orchards is open for visitors Friday to Sunday (and holiday Mondays). Enjoy outdoor seating, live music, cider tastings, wood-fired pizza, and burgers.
Westwind Orchard
Accord, NY
Westwind Orchard is a family owned orchard specializing in natural hard ciders. In addition to cider, wine, beer and other cocktails they offer a great selection of pizzas and Italian-inspired food to enjoy. Take a stroll through the apple orchard, enjoy the relaxing scenery with fire pits and outdoor lighting at night.
Left Bank Ciders
Catskill, NY
Left Bank Ciders makes small-batch cider using local ingredients that are pressed, fermented, and aged on site. The tasting room is open for indoor and outdoor seating Wednesday through Sunday.
