17th Annual Woodstock Film Festival
October 13 – October 16, 2016
It’s time again for Woodstock’s most popular annual event – the Woodstock Film Festival! This festival brings film and music lovers from around the world together in the Hudson Valley’s beloved small town of Woodstock. Each year promises a display of innovative films, first-class concerts, workshops, celebrity-led panels, an awards ceremony, and fantastic parties!
The town of Woodstock seems to come alive each year when this festival rolls into town. The mix of locals, filmmakers, musicians, vacationers, and film aficionados creates a casual but exciting atmosphere that is a unique experience. The cool weather and colorful changing leaves of the surrounding Catskill Mountains make Woodstock the perfect backdrop for this event!
“It’s a great festival… It’s what a film festival should be, which is really independent films showcasing the work of filmmakers you might not know about… I love that, and Woodstock is a town that goes hand in hand with that. I can’t think of another place that seems better suited to have an independent film festival than Woodstock.” – Paul Rudd
Festivities take place at different venues around town including Upstate Films, the Bearsville Theater and, the Woodstock Playhouse with additional events held in neighboring towns of Rhinebeck, Saugerties, Rosendale, and Kingston. The Woodstock Film Festival attracts visitors from all parts of the country and the world, including industry executives, television anchors, network and cable executives, magazine and newspaper editors, record label executives, writers, painters, models, entertainment lawyers, producers, critics, and publishers.
