Indoor-outdoor design is an essential feature of every house designed and built by HV Contemporary Homes. We focus on bringing the outdoors in by implementing strategically placed windows and doors, embracing natural light, and creating accessible outdoor living spaces. And what better place to appreciate the beauty of nature than the peaceful setting of the Hudson Valley!
Indoor-Outdoor Design in the Hudson Valley
In the Creek House, floor to ceiling windows along one edge of the living room draw the visitor toward the view outdoors and rushing creek 100 feet below. Sliding glass doors open to an expansive deck, nearly doubling the downstairs living space… Essentially the outdoors becomes the living room.
The pass-through entryway of the Lantern Ridge House draws visitors into the house, while immediately providing a connection to their surroundings. Upon entering the home, one’s gaze is immediately drawn to the incredible views of the Shawangunk Mountains.
Four sliding glass doors off the main living space enable easy access to the outdoors. The wrap-around covered deck provides ample outdoor space for entertaining and relaxing.
When walking into the main living space at TinkerBox, the visitor is immediately drawn to the view outside. The built-in bench is wrapped by a corner window that combines cozy winter evenings by the fire with deer watching. The adjacent wall has long windows that open up to wooded views in the back of the house.
The fold-away glass door off the kitchen can be easily pushed aside, opening up to a deck and outdoor fireplace, creating unobstructed views of the surrounding dense forest and continuous access to the outdoors.
The Hill Road Houses feature large south-facing windows in the living room and bedroom to provide ample sunlight and bring the outdoors in. Sliding glass doors lead to an outdoor deck perfect for grilling, entertaining, and relaxing in nature.
