As we blink away the last images of the recent snow, we’re looking ahead to the multitude of spring & summer events that are set to take place in the Hudson Valley this spring and summer! There are of course the can’t miss full weekend events that have become annual traditions, but we’re also looking forward to the many smaller events that are already on our calendars. The Hudson Valley comes alive during the warmer months with a vibrant mix of art, culture, food, and outdoor activities. Major Weekend Events
Field + Supply Spring MRKT (May 30- June 1, 2025)
Held at the historic Hutton Brickyards in Kingston, this modern makers fair brings together a carefully curated selection of artisans and designers. Beyond shopping for handcrafted goods, visitors can enjoy workshops, demonstrations, live music, and delicious food offerings along the scenic Hudson River waterfront.

Upstate Art Weekend (July 17-21, 2025)
This annual celebration spans the entire Hudson Valley region, featuring over 100 participants including galleries, museums, and artists’ studios. Now in its sixth year, Upstate Art Weekend has become a cornerstone event showcasing the region’s thriving creative community through special exhibitions, performances, and gatherings.

Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival (June 6 – September 10, 2025)
Celebrating its 39th season, this renowned festival offers exceptional open-air performances at its new permanent home in Garrison. The 2025 season features captivating productions including “The Matchmaker,” “The Comedy of Errors,” and “Julius Caeser.” The season kicks off with the annual Highland Lights, happening this weekend on April 26th.

Hudson Valley Garlic Festival (September 27-28, 2025)
Garlic enthusiasts flock to Saugerties each year for this aromatic celebration showcasing dozens of garlic farmers offering hundreds of varieties. The festival includes garlic-infused foods, cooking demonstrations, craft vendors, and live entertainment for a fragrant end-of-summer tradition.

Wassaic Project Summer Exhibition (Opens May 17, 2025)
This artist-run organization transforms a historic grain mill in eastern Dutchess County into a contemporary art space featuring emerging artists. The 2025 exhibition “So It Goes” showcases installations, sculpture, and multimedia works that explore “the desensitized ways in which we cope with recurring horrors.”

6th Annual Hudson Mad Hatters’ Parade (May 10th, 3-4pm)
This annual parade celebrates Hudson’s history as a city of makers. Participants are invited to come and show off their “mad hats, mythic headpieces and ambulating objects d’art.” Sounds like an event that would be fun to participate in or witness!
Stone Ridge Orchard Spring Wassail
The 29th annual Spring Wassail at Stone Ridge Orchard promises singing, dancing and feasting. A celebration of the ancient Celtic Ritual that recognizes the coming of spring and the promise of a bountiful harvest, the Wassail will feature traditional folk dancing and Balkan music.

Dia Community Free Days (Last Sunday monthly)
This contemporary art museum housed in a former Nabisco factory offers free admission to Hudson Valley residents on the last Sunday of each month. Special programming includes family art activities, guided tours in English and Spanish, and site-specific dance performances throughout the expansive galleries.

SlowFox Farm will be hosting a Spring Fest in mid-May that will include food from Mommo Pizza and Oyster Party.
