If you’ve been following our social media accounts or get our monthly Newsletter you probably know we’re thrilled to be finally getting started with our new community in Saugerties, The Cliffs at Kaaterskill! From some of the recent photos we’ve shared on Instagram, it may not look like there’s a lot happening but I assure you, our excavators are working hard, blasting through boulders and redistributing the rock, gravel and dirt to build the roads throughout our future community!
Infrastructure and Road Work at The Cliffs
Once we had final approval for the property subdivision, we started conducting engineering studies and began to plan for the main road up to the property. We met with our excavators on site with a plan of the property in hand, and staked out the points where the center line of the road new would be.
In a lot of places the new road follows the existing path on the property. Because the radius of the road that’s required by the town goes well outside of the original path (this is to allow room for safe passage of fire trucks and emergency vehicles if ever needed) we were originally a little concerned on how this might change the look of the property. But we couldn’t be happier with the end results! Moving dirt and rock to widen the path has actually opened up the cliff making it more visible, creating a beautiful sight on the drive up to the property. Infrastructure and road work will continue over the next few weeks. Once it’s complete, we’ll be having an event to celebrate and show the property. It will be a great chance to see the plots available, find out more about our plans for homes at The Cliffs and see the incredible views in person!
